Lower your expectations

Having unrealistic expectations for people can set you up to be disappointed. Lower your expectations where necessary and express what you need in the moment.

Ask others to help or assist you

If you need help, please ask for it. There is no ā€œIā€ in team, sometimes we try to do things on our own and struggle. The help will alleviate some stress on yourself and allow you to get the goal accomplished.

Take responsibility for the situation

To every problem there is a solution. Know that the problem is the problem. People are not the problem. Take responsibility on the part you played in the situation and do your best to do better.

Maintain emotionally supportive relationships

It is important you have people that support you emotionally. Mentors, teachers, friends etc. Having access to those supports necessary helps you thrive overall.

Directly attempt to change the source of stress

Whatever the source is that is causing the stress, try to change it if it is within your control. If not, shift your focus on whatever is within your control, regarding the situation.

Distance yourself from the source of stress

As much as you can separate yourself from the stressor, if possible. Find a safe place, someone or where you can go that will help alleviate the stress. Go for a walk, listen to music, write, read etc. Sometimes a change of environment helps.

Journaling

Journaling can be an excellent outlet for releasing pressure when you're feeling overwhelmed or simply when there's a lot going on inside. Try writing things you are grateful for maybe write down wishes you have.
